How to Play the Combine Like Terms & Solve Equations Game
The game will show you an algebraic equation. Your task is to solve the equation.
Here’s how to play:

1. Include Parenthesis: Select include parenthesis if you want the equation to use parenthesis.
   
2. Timed Option: Check the timer if you want to enable the 60 second timer. Click “Start Game”.
   
3. Look at the Problem: You’ll see an algebraic equation. Combine like terms and solve for the variable.
   
4. Enter Your Answer: Enter your answer at the (?).
   
5. Check Your Work: Click the Check button (or press the Enter key). The game will tell you if you’re correct. If you are wrong, you will be shown the correct answer.
   
6. Get a New Problem: Click the Next button for a new problem.
   Your score is tracked at the top, showing how many you’ve gotten right out of the total you’ve tried.
7. Back to Menu Click “Back to Menu” to restart the game.
    
   

How to Combine Like Terms & Solve Equations
Step 1: Combine like terms on each side
Identify: terms with the same variable and exponent
Group: the like terms together on the same side of the equal sign.
Add or subtract: the coefficients (the numbers in front of the variables) of the like terms to combine them into a single term.
 
Step 2: Solve for the variable
Isolate: the term with the variable by moving all constant terms to the opposite side of the equation. Use inverse operations.
 
Step 3: Check your solution
Substitute: the value you found for the variable back into the original equation.
Simplify: both sides of the equation to confirm they are equal.
