How to play Shenzhen Solitaire?

In Shenzhen Solitaire, the deck is a special 40-card deck, whose cards are in one of three categories: 27 number cards: of ranks 1~9, in each of 3 suits. One flower card. 12 honor cards: 4 copies each of 3 kinds.

The foundation thus consists of 7 slots of 3 types, corresponding to the card categories.

Number cards stack in the tableau by descending rank and unlike suit. Such stacks of any size can be moved as a unit. (e.g. 4♥️–3♣️–2♠️ can be placed on the 5♣️). They are put away to the number slots at the top-right, in ascending order by suit.

The flower card may be put away to the flower slot once it is exposed.

Honor cards do not stack on other cards. The honor slots at the top-left also act as free cells that may each store one card of any kind. When all 4 copies of a kind of honor card are exposed, you may put them away by either moving two of them to the same honor slot, or double-clicking one of them. They will then permanently occupy an honor slot.

Empty tableau columns may be filled by any card or stack.

To win the game, put all the cards away to their respective foundation slots.

Shortcut note: Double-clicking on a card will either try to put it away if possible, or send it to a free cell if not.

New Game:
Starts a new game with a new shuffled deck.

Reset:
Rewinds you back to the beginning of the current game.

Undo:
Undo the last move (including Game Over).

Settings:
Honors: Mythical, Abstract, Greek, or Eastern
Suits: Animals, Shapes, Western or Eastern

Winning Strategies

• Because there are three suits/colors, you can often swap cards between stacks to accommodate a card/stack. e.g. you can’t stack 4♥️ on 5♥️, but if you have another stack of 5♠️–4♣️, you can move the 4♣️ to the 5♥️, then place 4♥️ on 5♠️.
• Try to swap cards around such that honor cards live in the free cells, and number cards live in the tableau.
• It’s often a good idea to try to prioritize clearing the honor cards. Though this permanently uses a free cell, this can often free several important cards, or even empty tableau columns.
• Empty tableau columns are quite useful, as any card or stack can be placed there.
• Note that the autoplay only moves cards it’s sure that you do not need. It may be possible to play more cards to the foundations, and you may need to do so to clear space or get to another card you need.
