Solve Equations Game
To solve one-step and two-step equations, use inverse operations to isolate the variable on one side of the equation. For one-step equations, you need one inverse operation (e.g., add the inverse of subtraction), while for two-step equations, you first undo addition/subtraction, then undo multiplication/division, always performing the same operation on both sides of the equation to maintain balance. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

This game will challenge you to solve for a variable in equations involving integers. You’ll be able to choose between one-step and two-step problems to match your skill level. If you give a wrong answer, the game will provide the correct answer.

Solve Equations
One-Step Equations
A one-step equation requires only one inverse operation to solve.
Identify the operation: being performed on the variable (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division).
Apply the inverse operation: to both sides of the equation.
The inverse of addition is subtraction, and vice versa.
The inverse of multiplication is division, and vice versa.
Simplify: the equation to find the value of the variable.

Two-Step Equations
A two-step equation requires two inverse operations.
Isolate the term: with the variable first by performing the inverse of the addition or subtraction.
Isolate the variable: by performing the inverse of the multiplication or division.
Perform the same operation on both sides: of the equation to keep it balanced.

The video gives a clear, step-by-step approach to solve one-step and two-step equations.
