This Inequality Number Line Game is a great way to put your skills to the test in a fun environment. By practicing, you’ll start to work out the answers efficiently.
Inequality Number Line Game
To represent an inequality on a number line, first draw the number line and place a marker (an open or closed circle) at the boundary number. Use an open circle for strict inequalities (<, >) and a closed (filled-in) circle for inclusive inequalities (≤, ≥), indicating whether the boundary number is included in the solution set. Next, draw an arrow on the number line to show the direction of the solution. The arrow points to the right for greater than (>, ≥) and to the left for less than (<, ≤). Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.
This game will test your knowledge by presenting you with an inequality on a number line. You will need to indicate what inequality is shown. The inequalities are designed to help you identify the key differences between a strict inequality (> or <) and an inclusive one (≥ or ≤). If you give a wrong answer, the game will provide the correct answer.

How to Inequality Number Line
To interpret an inequality on a number line, observe the direction of the shaded region and the type of dot used. An arrow pointing to the right indicates a “greater than” inequality (>) or “greater than or equal to” (≥), while an arrow pointing to the left indicates a “less than” (<) or “less than or equal to” (≤) inequality. An open dot means the number is not included (>, <), and a closed dot means the number is included (≥, ≤).
