To multiply a whole number by a fraction, treat the whole number as a fraction with a denominator of 1, then multiply the numerators and the denominators straight across, and finally simplify the resulting improper fraction into a mixed number if necessary. How to Play the Multiply Fractions and Whole Numbers Game
The game will show you fraction and a whole number. Your task is to multiply them.
Here’s how to play:

  1. Enter the maximum denominator: Enter a number to indicate the upper bound of the denominators.
  2. Timed Option: Check the timer if you want to enable the 60 second timer. Click “Start Game”.
  3. Look at the Problem: You’ll see a fraction and a whole number. Multiply them.
  4. Enter Your Answer: Enter in the fraction or mixed number.
  5. Check Your Work: Click the Check button (or press the Enter key). The game will tell you if you’re correct. If you are wrong, you will be shown how to get the correct answer.
  6. Get a New Problem: Click the Next button for a new problem.
    Your score is tracked at the top, showing how many you’ve gotten right out of the total you’ve tried.
  7. Back to Menu Click “Back to Menu” to restart the game.

  3. Multiply the denominators: Multiply the bottom number of the first fraction (1) by the bottom number of the second fraction.
  4. Simplify the fraction: If the resulting fraction is an improper fraction (where the numerator is greater than or equal to the denominator), convert it to a mixed number.
