Basic Operations with Polynomials
Key Points to Remember:
Combine like terms: Only terms with the same variable and exponent can be combined.
Distributive property: Multiply each term in one polynomial by each term in the other.
Exponent rules: When multiplying terms with the same base, add the exponents. When dividing terms with the same base, subtract the exponents.
Remainder: In polynomial division, if there’s a remainder, it can be expressed as a fraction with the divisor as the denominator.
