Metric Measurement

 

 

Objective: I know how to convert between different metric mesurements..

 

Metric measurements of length are millimeter (mm), centimeter (cm), meter (m), kilometer (km).

 

10 mm = 1 cm

100 cm = 1 m

1000 m = 1 km

 

Example

(a) Change 0.27 km to m

(b) Change 54mm to cm

 

Solution:

(a) 0.27km= 0.27x1000m = 270m

(b) 54mm = 54:10cm = 5.4cm
