How to Play the Subtracting Decimals Game
This game is designed to help you practice subtracting decimals in a fun environment.
Here’s how to play:

1. Select Number of Decimal Places: Click 1 digit, 2 digits decimal places or random to customize the difficulty.
2. Timed Option: Check the timer if you want to enable the 60 second timer. Click “Start Game”.
   
3. Look at the Problem: You’ll see numbers at the top of the box. Your goal is to subtract them.
   
4. Enter Your Answer: Type your answer into the box with the question mark ?.
   
5. Check Your Work: Click the Check button (or press the Enter key). The game will tell you if you’re correct. If you are wrong, you will be shown the correct answer.
   
6. Get a New Problem: Click the Next button (or press Enter again) for a new problem.
   Your score is tracked at the top, showing how many you’ve gotten right out of the total you’ve tried.
7. Back to Menu Click “Back to Menu” to restart the game.
    
   

How to subtract decimals
Subtracting Decimals Lesson

1. Line up the decimals.
   Write the first number on top of the second number so that their decimal points are in a straight, vertical line. All the digits will then be in their correct place value columns.
   
2. Add placeholder zeros.
   If the two numbers don’t have the same number of digits after the decimal point, add zeros to the end of the shorter number so they match up. This helps you keep your columns organized and prevents mistakes.
   
3. Subtract normally.
   Subtract the numbers in each column, starting from the right and moving to the left. If you need to, you can borrow just like you would with regular subtraction.
   
4. Place the decimal point.
   Bring the decimal point straight down from where it was lined up in the problem.
