Circumference Game
The circumference is the perimeter of a circle. To calculate it, you only need one measurement: either the radius or the diameter. Both formulas involve the constant Pi (π), which is approximately 3.14. You can also select to find the radius/diameter given the circumference. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

In this game, you may select “Find Circumference” or “Find Diameter/Radius”. Approximate π to 3.14 and round answers to two decimal places. If you give a wrong answer, the game will provide the correct answer.

    Score: 0 / 0

    Use 3.14 for π (pi) and round your answer to 2 decimal places.

    C = ?

How to Play the Circumference Game
In the game, you need to find the circumference, diameter, or radius of a circle.
Here’s how to play:

  1. Choose your challenge: Select “Find Circumference”, “Find Diameter/Radius” or “Mixed Questions”
  2. Find the Circumference: You will be given either the radius or diameter of a circle. Find the circumference of the circle.
  3. Find Diameter/Radius: You will be given the circumference. Find either the radius or diameter.
  4. Enter Your Answer: Enter in the answer. Approximate π by 3.14 and round answers to two decimal places.

How to Find the Circumference of a Circle

  1. Finding Circumference Given the Diameter
    The simplest way to calculate the circumference is to multiply the diameter by Pi. The diameter is the distance across the circle, passing through the center.
    The Formula:
    C= πd
    where
    C is the circumference.
    π is approximately 3.14.
    d is the diameter.

  2. Finding Circumference Given the Radius
    The radius is the distance from the center of the circle to the edge. Since the diameter is twice the radius (d = 2r), we modify the formula accordingly.
    The Formula:
    C = 2πr
    where
    C is the circumference.
    2r represents the diameter.
    r is the radius.

The video gives a clear, step-by-step approach to calculate the circumference of a circle.

How to Find the Diameter of a Circle

  1. Use the formula C=πd, where C is the circumference and d is the diameter.
  2. Divide the circumference (C) by pi (π) to find the diameter (d).
    d=C/π
  3. For an approximate value, use 3.14 for &pi.

How to Find the Radius of a Circle

  1. Once you have the diameter, divide it by 2 to find the radius. r=d/2.
  2. Alternatively, you can use the formula r=C/(2π) to find the radius directly from the circumference.
