To solve absolute value equations (like |x| = 5),we need to find all values of x that make the equation true. Since absolute value measures distance from zero, most equations will have two solutions.
Basic Absolute Value Equation Game
This game tests your conceptual understanding of absolute value as distance.
For example,
If |x| = b and b is > 0, it means x is b units away from zero. This can happen in two directions. The solutions are x = b or x = -b.
If |x| = 0 then there is only one solution, x = 0.
if |x| = b and b is < 0, then there is no solution because distance cannot be negative.
