How to Play the Types of Fractions Game

  1. Choose Your Difficulty
On the Main Menu, you have two ways to play:
Proper vs Improper: Only two types of fractions will appear.

  2. Know Your Categories
To win, you need to recognize these three types:
    Proper Fraction
    The Rule:
The top number (numerator) is smaller than the bottom number (denominator).
    The Meaning:
It is less than one whole unit.
    Example: \(\frac{2}{5}\)

Improper Fraction
The Rule:
The top number is larger than or equal to the bottom number.
The Meaning:
It is equal to or greater than one whole unit.
Example: \(\frac{7}{4}\)

Mixed Number
The Rule:
It has a whole number sitting next to a proper fraction.
The Meaning:
It shows exactly how many wholes and how many extra parts you have.
Example: \(2 \frac{1}{3}\)
