Surface Area of Sphere Game
The surface area ($SA$) of a sphere is the total area of its outer shell. The formula is:
SA = 4πr2
Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

In this game, you may select “Find Surface Area”, “Find Radius”, or “Mixed Questions”. If you give a wrong answer, the game will provide the correct answer.

Score: 0 / 0

Find the Surface Area

Use 3.14 for π. SA = 4πr². Round to 2 decimal places.

How to Play the Surface Area of Sphere Game
In the game, you need to find the surface area of a sphere or find the radius when given the surface area.
Here’s how to play:

  1. Choose your challenge: Select “Find Surface Area”, “Find Radius”, or “Mixed Questions”.
  2. Find Surface Area: Calculate surface area given the radius.
  3. Find Radius: Calculate radius given the surface area.
  4. Enter Your Answer: Enter in the answer.
  5. Check Your Work: Click the “Check” button (or press the Enter key). The game will tell you if you’re correct. If you are wrong, you will be shown the correct answer.
  6. Get a New Problem: Click the “Next” button for a new problem.
    Your score is tracked at the top, showing how many you’ve gotten right out of the total you’ve tried.
  7. Back to Menu Click “Menu” to restart the game.

The Surface Area Formula
The surface area (SA) of a sphere is the total area of its outer shell.
The formula is:
SA = 4πr2
Where:
SA is the Total Surface Area.
π (pi) is the constant approximately equal to 3.14.
r is the radius of the sphere (the distance from the center to the surface).

Radius of a Sphere
To solve for the radius (r), we need to isolate it on one side of the equation.
\(r = \sqrt{\frac{SA}{4\pi}}\)

The video gives a clear, step-by-step approach to find the surface area of a sphere.
