How to Play

1. View the Equation
   The main challenge appears in the center of the screen (e.g., 14 - 4). This is the number you need to solve before the next round.
   

2. Use the “Double-Double” Strategy
   Subtracting 4 can be a big jump, so try breaking it down into two smaller steps:
   The First Jump: Subtract 2 from the starting number (14 - 2 = 12).
   The Second Jump: Subtract another 2 from that result (12 - 2 = 10).
   Shortcut: If you are comfortable with your 5-facts, try subtracting 5 and adding 1 back.
   

3. Pick Your Answer
   Four possible answers are provided in the grid below the problem. Click the button you believe is correct:
   Correct: The button will glow Royal Purple, a chime will sound, and you’ll receive positive feedback.
   Incorrect: The button will turn Slate Gray, and a helpful hint will appear to guide you.
   

4. Monitor Your Accuracy
   Track your progress with the Accuracy counter in the top-right corner. It shows your total correct answers versus total attempts. Challenge yourself to reach a 20-question “perfect” streak.
   

5. Level Up
   Once you’ve answered, the NEXT CHALLENGE ➔ button will appear. Click it to immediately generate a new problem and keep your brain in the zone.

If you are practicing in a public space, you can mute the feedback chimes by clicking the Speaker Icon in the top-right corner of the interface.
