How to Play Odd One Out Game
Sound Odd One Out trains the brain to isolate the very first sound (the initial phoneme) a mouth makes when pronouncing a word.

Step 1: Listen to the Word Sequence
At the top of the card, tap the Mega Speaker button (🔊).
The system speech engine will read all three words aloud in a steady, sequential row (e.g., “cat… cup… sun”).
Listen carefully to how your mouth, teeth, and tongue shift into place to form the very beginning of each word.

Step 2: Replay Individual Words (Optional)
If you want to zoom in on a specific word, tap the smaller Audio button (🔊) sitting directly next to that specific word row.
This allows students to compare two tricky sounds side-by-side at their own comfortable pace.

Step 3: Spot the Odd One Out
Analyze the starting sounds. Two of the items belong to the same sound family, while one is an imposter.
Click or tap the full word row of the “Odd One” that begins with a completely different sound.

Step 4: Check Your Answer
Correct Guess: The selected row highlights in green, and a bright, gentle upward synth swell plays. A clear visual explanation pops up detailing exactly why those sounds match or differ.
Incorrect Guess: The word you selected turns red, while the true correct answer safely glows green. A soft minor-third descending tone plays, providing a stress-free correction alongside an explicit breakdown of the mouth positions.

Step 5: Advance the Trail
Tap the Next Setup ➔ control button to advance forward through the 10-challenge deck.

Specifically, it isolates initial phoneme categorization (grouping words by their starting sounds) and phoneme isolation (hearing a single sound inside a whole word).
