Welcome to Sorting Shapes Worksheet/Game. This game is designed to test your shape recognition and logic. The goal is to identify and select every instance of a specific geometric shape from a randomized grid. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

 

 

How to play the Sorting Shapes Game

1. Identify the Target
   At the top of the screen, you will see a directive in a dark box (e.g., “Find all Triangles”).
   Audio Support: If you want to hear the instruction read aloud, click the Speaker Icon next to the text.
   

2. Analyze the Grid
   A 3 × 3 grid of 9 shapes will appear below the instruction. These shapes come in different types (Circles, Squares, Triangles, Pentagon, and Hexagon) and various colors.
   The Challenge: Colors are randomized to distract you—focus only on the number of sides and the geometry of the shape itself.
   

3. Make Your Selections
   Click or tap on every card that matches the target shape.
   Selection Effect: When you select a card, it will shrink slightly and glow with a Cyan (Blue) border.
   Deselect: If you change your mind, click the card again to remove the selection.
   

4. Verify Your Logic
   Once you believe you have selected all of the correct shapes (and none of the incorrect ones), click the large Check Selection button at the bottom.
   

5. Review the Feedback
   The game uses a “Self-Correction” system, meaning it won’t give you the answers—it only tells you if your logic is sound.
   Note on Errors: If you get an error, the game will not show you which card was wrong. You must look at the grid again, re-count the sides of the shapes, and adjust your choices until the logic is perfect.
