How to play the Sort Prime & Composite Game

  1. The Core Objective
You are given a pool of 12 numbers. Your mission is to sort them into the correct bins based on their factor count.
    Prime Numbers: Numbers that have exactly two factors: 1 and themselves (e.g., 2, 3, 5, 7, 11).
Composite Numbers: Numbers that have three or more factors (e.g., 4, 6, 8, 9, 10).

  2. How to Play
Selection: Click on a number in the central pool. The selected number will glow indigo, “lift” off the page, and play a unique triangle-wave tone.
Classification: Once a number is selected, the two bins at the bottom will pulse. Click the bin that matches your number’s type:
    For Prime numbers.
    For Composite numbers.
Completion: The game continues until all 12 subjects have been correctly classified.

  3. Scoring & Feedback
Analysis Progress: Tracks how many numbers you have successfully sorted out of 12.
Current Streak: Every correct answer increases your streak.
System Errors: If you misclassify a number, the targeted bin will shake violently and turn red. Your Current Streak will reset to 0, but you can try to sort the number again.
Audio Hints: Correct classifications play a rising sine-wave chime, while errors play a low-frequency “buzz."

  4. Pro Tips
The Number 2: Remember that 2 is the only even prime number.
Ending in 5: Except for the number 5 itself, any number ending in 5 (like 15, 25, 35) is composite.
Divisibility Tests: Learn the divisibility rules to help you find factors.
