How to play the Sort Multiples Game

  1. Setup your Mission
At the top right of the interface, you’ll find a dropdown menu labeled Target Multiple. Before you start sorting, choose a base number from 2 to 10.
Once selected, the game will automatically “Deploy a New Pool” containing 12 unique numbers:
6 Multiples: Numbers that can be divided by your target with no remainder (e.g., if the target is 3, you might see 9, 12, or 21).
6 Distractors: Numbers that are not multiples of your target (e.g., 7, 13, or 20).

  2. How to Sort
Select: Click on a number card in the top pool. The card will turn bright cyan and lift up to show it is selected.
Evaluate: Determine if that number is a multiple of your target.
Tip: If you can multiply your target by any whole number to get that value, it’s a multiple.
Place: Click on one of the two large bins:
Is a Multiple: For correct matches.
Not a Multiple: For the distractors.

  3. Scoring and Feedback
Progress Tracker: The counter shows how many of the 12 numbers you have successfully sorted.
Streak: Correct placements build your Streak.
Errors: If you place a number in the wrong bin, the bin will shake red and play a low “buzz” sound. Your streak will immediately reset to 0.
Victory: Once all 12 cards are sorted correctly, a “Mission Success” overlay will appear.

  4. Controls & UI Cues
Visual Highlights: When a card is selected, the bins will glow with a faint cyan border, indicating they are “active” and ready to receive the card.
Audio Feedback: Every number plays a different musical note when clicked, and correct answers play an ascending chime.
Re-Initialize: Click “Deploy New Pool” on the win screen or change the Target Multiple at any time to reset the board with a new set of numbers.
