1. Analyze the Function: Look at the top box (e.g., h(x) = 3x + 5).
   
2. Identify the Target: Look at the blue text (e.g., Solve for x at h(x) = 11).
   
3. Calculate: Use inverse operations to isolate x.
   
4. Enter Your Answer:
   If it’s a whole number, just type it (e.g., 2).
   If it’s a fraction, use a forward slash (e.g., 1/2 or -3/4).
   

The Strategy:
Inverse Operations
To solve these, you have to “undo” the math in reverse order (SADMEP).

Example:
Function: h(x) = 2x - 4
Target: h(x) = 6

Step 1: Set up the equation.
Replace h(x) with the target:
6 = 2x - 4

Step 2: Undo addition/subtraction.
The inverse of - 4 is + 4.
Add 4 to both sides:10 = 2x

Step 3: Undo multiplication/division.
The inverse of · 2 is ÷ 2.
Divide both sides by 2:
5 = x

Result: Type 5 into the box.

Tips
The Invisible 1:
If you see h(x) = x + 5, remember the coefficient is 1. You only need to undo the + 5 to find x.
Fractional Answers:
If you get an equation like 2 = 3x, you divide by 3. Since 2 ÷ 3 isn’t a whole number, simply type 2/3.
Negative Numbers:
Watch your signs! If you have -10 = 2x, the answer is -5.
