The deck is a standard 52-card deck. There are 4 suits, each with ranks: Ace (low), 2~10, Jack, Queen, King. Suits are ignored in this game.

Cards are played from the tableau to the stack one at a time, and may score points based on the criteria listed below.

The stack total is always tracked, and is the sum of the values of the cards in the stack (A = 1, J/Q/K = 10). The total can never exceed 31.

If you can play a card, you must. If you can’t, click on the discard pile to start a new stack.

Scoring criteria:
Jack First: The first card played to the stack is a Jack. Scores 2 points.
Stack Total = 15/31: The stack total is exactly 15 or 31. Scores 2 points.
Pair/Triple/Quad: The frontmost 2/3/4 cards of the stack are the same rank. Scores 2/6/12 points respectively.
Run: The frontmost cards of the stack form a set of 3 or more consecutive ranks, in any order, such as K–J–Q or 2–4–3–A. Scores 1 point for each card in the run.

To win the game, you must score 61 points or higher.

Cribbage Solitaire tips:

• Note that the goal score (61) is slightly more than the number of cards (52), therefore you must score an average of more than 1 point per card.

• This means you must score often and score well; mere pairs and 3-card runs won’t be sufficient. You also need to go for high-scoring combinations like triples (quads are better, but quite rare; you also can’t make them with any rank higher than 7) and overlapping runs.

• Note that runs can overlap. One simple way is to start with a 3-card run (e.g. 2-4-3) and then “extend” it on either or both ends, e.g. play an Ace and a 5 to then score a 4-card run and a 5-card run. However, note that runs can also overlap, e.g. A-2-3-A, which would score a 3-card run twice.

• As you play, you might notice particular patterns of cards that score well, e.g: 4-5-6 (any order) scores both a 3-card run and for total 15, for 5 points and potential for run extensions and/or overlaps. 7-8-9-7: scores for total 15, total 31, and twice for 3-card runs, for 10 points.

• An example of “dream” combo would be A-2-3-4-5-A-2-3-4-5-A, which scores 46 points (3-card run, 4-card run, 5-card run x7, total 15, total 31); you’re unlikely to get it in full, but even part of or a slight modification of this combo can score very well.

• Low cards are quite valuable due to the potential to make long stacks, so try to keep them covered until you’re able to make the best use of them.

• Because face cards are also of value 10, cards of value 10 are significantly more common. Thus, to score a few extra points via stack totals 15 and 31, you may want to take note of combinations of cards that add up to 5 or 21.
