Reciprocal Ratio Worksheet/Game
Welcome to Reciprocal Ratio Worksheet/Game. In this game, you’ll need to apply your knowledge of how the six trigonometric ratios (sin, cos, tan, csc, sec, cot) relate to each other. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.


 


 

The Basic Controls

  1. Enter Vault: Click the start button to begin a randomized set of 10 challenges.
  2. Select Your Answer: Tap one of the buttons in the grid that matches the expression in the card.
  3. Validate:
    Correct: The button turns Fuchsia, and your accuracy increases.
    Incorrect: The button turns Red, and the correct answer is highlighted for you.
  4. Advance: Click Next Entry to move to the next challenge.

Strategy & Logic
To win, you need to remember the “flips”:
The “S-C” Swap: Sine (sin) flips to become Cosecant (csc). Cosine (cos) flips to become Secant (sec).
The Tangent Flip: Tangent (tan) flips to become Cotangent (cot).
The Pythagorean Identities: Be careful with the squared terms. Remember that 1 + tan2 = sec2 and 1 + cot2 = csc2.

Stuck on a Problem?
If you get a question wrong, a Show Identity button will appear.
Click it to open the Reciprocal Logic overlay.This will explain the specific algebraic steps or the right-triangle ratio required to solve that specific problem.

Winning the Game
Once you complete all 10 entries, the Status Overlay will appear, displaying your final accuracy percentage. You can then return to the menu to try again for a perfect score.
