Welcome to the Ratio Word Problems Challenge! In this educational game, you will step up to the digital counter to solve real-time word problems based on proportional relationships. By matching ratios of fresh items like apples, oranges, and bell peppers, you will help the store maintain its supply chain balance, log inventory flawlessly, and keep the sales rolling in. How to Play

1. Set Up Your Shift
   When you first load the game, you will see the storefront welcome screen with two interface controls that let you customize your gameplay experience:
   Audio Engine Enabled: Toggles the retro audio feedback cues on or off.
   60-Second Speed Run Mode: Turning this on puts you on a strict 1-minute clock to log as many correct items as possible. Disabling it gives you time to practice at your own pace.
   Click Open Store when you are ready to begin your shift.
   

2. Solve the Inventory Check
   Once the shift starts, a produce-themed ratio word problem will be dynamically pulled from the inventory bank and displayed in the main window. Read the problem carefully: It will establish a baseline ratio between two fruits or vegetables (e.g., a 3:2 ratio of apples to oranges) and give you a specific quantity for one of them.
   Calculate the missing amount: Use cross-multiplication or equivalent fractions to find the unknown value. For instance, if apples to oranges is 3:2 and you have 15 apples, you can scale the ratio up by a factor of 5 to find that you need 10 oranges.
   

3. Log and Submit Your Answers
   Type your calculated numeric answer directly into the center text field marked with a ?.
   You can submit your answer either by clicking the green Log Inventory button or by pressing the Enter key on your keyboard.
   Correct Answers: You will hear a positive chime, your “Sales” score will increase by 10 points, and the game will seamlessly cycle to a new, randomly selected problem.
   

4. Review Your Errors (Corrective Feedback)
   If a calculation error occurs during your shift, the game shifts into an interactive review overlay:
   The countdown timer pauses so you don’t lose valuable time while learning.
   A mathematical breakdown uses cleanly rendered fractions and equations to show you exactly how to set up the proportion, cross-multiply to isolate the variable, and solve for x.
   Review the steps, and click Acknowledge & Sync to close the overlay and return to the game with a new question.
   

Once your 60-second shift concludes, the game will automatically switch to the summary screen to show you your final logged score! If you ever need to leave early, just click Close Store in the top left corner to safely exit back to the main menu.
