Educational Summary
Target Skill & Learning Objectives
Prefix: Base Word Builder targets structural analysis and morphological awareness. By focusing on how affixes modify base words, students learn to decode unfamiliar words, build academic vocabulary, and improve reading comprehension.

Key Content Covered
The game draws from a 20-question bank categorized across four essential elementary prefixes:
Un- (Not / Reverse Action): unhappy, unlock, unkind, unpack, unwrap
Re- (Again / Back): rewrite, replay, refill, rebuild, reread
Dis- (Not / Opposite Of): disagree, disappear, dislike, disobey, disconnect
Pre- (Before): preheat, preview, prepay, pretest, precook

Instructional Value & Features
Contextual Learning: Rather than memorizing isolated definitions, students evaluate prefixes within authentic sentence contexts, reinforcing both syntax and semantic meaning.

Morphological Explanations: Immediate corrective feedback breaks down the prefix, root word, and combined meaning (e.g., “The prefix pre- means ‘before’. Preheat means to heat up beforehand”).

Dual-Modality Support: Integrated Web Speech API audio supports diverse learning styles, helping struggling readers align spoken phonemes with written morphemes.

Prefixes “re”, “un”, “bi”, “dis”
