Scaled Picture Graph Worksheet/Game
Welcome to the Scaled Picture Graph Challenge! This educational web game is designed to build data literacy by challenging players to interpret pictograms (picture graphs). By switching between straightforward tracking and multi-unit scaling, players learn how to decode visual data distributions, calculate differences, and compute combined totals. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

How to Play
Step 1: Choose Your Difficulty Mode:
Set before starting.
At the top of the console, toggle between the two available radar settings:
Standard Scale (1:1): Every individual icon you see represents exactly one unit. Excellent for basic counting and establishing a baseline.
Advanced Scale (Multipliers): Icons represent larger shipments. This mode introduces multipliers where a single icon might equal 2, 5, or 10 units, testing your multiplication skills.

Step 2: Check the Encryption Key:
Crucial for calculation.
Before running any math, look at the 🔑 KEY banner at the bottom of the Supply Hold Manifest. It dictates the value of the cargo icons. If you skip this step on Advanced Scale, your final counts will be thrown off.

Step 3: Analyze the Question:
Identify the operation.
Read the central transmission text carefully. The ship’s computer generates three distinct types of data queries:
Single Count: “How many units of [Item] are in the cargo hold?” (Count the icons and multiply by the key value).
Comparison/Difference: “How many more [Item A] are there than [Item B]?” (Find the difference in icon counts between two rows, then multiply by the key).
Combined Total: “What is the combined total of [Item A] and [Item B]?” (Add the icons of both rows together, then multiply by the key).

Step 4: Submit and Verify Data:
Keyboard or click.
Type your numeric answer into the center field marked with a ? symbol. Click Verify Data or hit the Enter key on your keyboard to lock it in.

Step 5: Review the Cargo Log:
Immediate feedback.
The console will instantly evaluate your data. If your calculation is correct, you will hear a success chime and gain a point. If it is incorrect, a warning buzzer sounds and the system splits open a detailed mathematical breakdown showing you exactly how the formula was solved.

Step 6: Receive Final Evaluation:
After 10 rounds.Press Next Log ➔ to advance through the manifest. After completing all 10 scheduled rounds, the system compiles your totals and assigns your official rank based on your accuracy, ranging from Supply Cadet up to the legendary Grand Quartermaster.
