Odd One Out Worksheet/Game
Welcome to Odd One Out Worksheet/Game. This game is a logic and classification game designed to help kindergarten students identify common attributes and recognize items that do not fit a specific category. Find the one that does not belong. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

Game Objective
The goal is to look at a group of four items and identify the “Odd One Out”—the single item that does not share the same characteristics as the other three.

How to play the Odd One Out Worksheet/Game

  1. Start the Mission: Tap the large indigo “Start Mission” button on the home screen to begin.

  2. Analyze the Grid: Four emoji icons will appear in a grid.

  3. Compare the Items: Think about what three of the items have in common.
    Are they all fruits?
Are they all things that fly?
    Are they all animals?

  4. Make Your Selection: Tap on the icon that doesn’t belong.
If you are correct: The card will glow green, and the game will explain the logic (e.g., “That’s right! One of these is a vehicle!”).
If you are incorrect: The card will shake red. Look at the group again and try a different choice!

  5. Automatic Progression: Once you find the correct answer, the game will pause for 5 seconds to let you read the explanation before automatically moving you to the next category.

Educational Strategy: Classification Skills
This game builds foundational Categorization skills. By determining why an item is different, students practice:
Attribute Recognition: Identifying color, shape, function, or habitat.
Deductive Reasoning: Ruling out items that fit the “rule” of the group.
Vocabulary Building: Learning the names and categories of diverse objects ranging from celestial bodies to household furniture.
