Number Word Match Quiz/Game
Welcome to Number Word Match. This game helps students connect the symbol of a number (the digit) with its written name and its spoken sound from 1 to 10 or from 1 to 20. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.
How to play the Number Word Match Game
Choose Your Level
When the game opens, you are presented with two choices:
Level 1 (1 to 10): Standard single and double-digit basics.
Level 2 (11 to 20): Focuses on “teen” numbers, which are often the hardest to spell and pronounce.
The Main Objective
Look at the Big Yellow Digit in the center of the screen. Your task is to find the word at the bottom that is spelled correctly for that number.
Interactive Feedback
Voice Preview: When you click any word button, the game speaks that word immediately using a natural voice. This helps you check the sound against the spelling.
Visual Messages: Look at the Feedback Bar right above the number:
Correct: Appears in green if you picked the right word. The button will also turn green, and a happy musical chord will play.
Try again: Appears in red if you picked the wrong word. The button will pulse red and play a low “wrong” sound.
Scoring and Rounds
The game automatically starts a new round about 1 second after you get a correct answer.
Your total correct answers are tracked in the Score section at the bottom.
