How to Play the Metric Capacity Conversion Game

1. Check the Source: Look at the top number and unit (e.g., 1.5 L).
   
2. Check the Target: Look at the unit below the arrow (e.g., mL).
   
3. Do the Math:
   Going Down (e.g., kg to g): Multiply by 1,000.
   Going Up (e.g., g to kg): Divide by 1,000.
   
4. Enter & Submit: Type your answer into the large pink-bordered box and click CONVERT MASS!
   
5. Score & Repeat: Correct answers earn you a point and a “Perfectly Balanced” chime. Click Next Round to keep going.
   

The “Rule of 1,000”
The most important thing to remember is: 1 Liter = 1,000 Milliliters.
To convert L → mL (Big to Small):
You are moving “down” the scale, so the number gets bigger.
Action: Multiply by 1,000.
Shortcut: Move the decimal point 3 places to the right.
Example: 2.5 L = 2,500 mL

To convert mL → L (Small to Big):
You are moving “up” the scale, so the number gets smaller.
Action: Divide by 1,000.
Shortcut: Move the decimal point 3 places to the left.
Example: 500 mL = 0.5 L

Tips
Decimal Zeros: If you are converting 5 L to mL, imagine the decimal is at the end (5.0). Moving it three places right gives you 5,000.
