Fibonacci Sequence Worksheet/Game
Welcome to Fibonacci Sequence Worksheet/Game. This game requires you to fill in the gaps for a Fibonacci Sequence. A Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where each number is the sum of the two preceding ones. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

How to play the Fibonacci Sequence Game

  1. The Core Rule: “Sum the Previous Two”
In this game, every number in the sequence is created by adding the two numbers that come right before it.
    The Rule
The mathematical formula for the sequence is:
    Fn = Fn-1 + Fn-2

For example, if the sequence starts with 2 and 3:
The next number is 2+3= 5.
The number after that is 3+5= 8.
The final number would be 5+8= 13.

  1. Filling the Gaps
When the game starts, you will see a row of numbers with two empty boxes (the gaps).
Look at the numbers already visible to find the “rhythm” of the addition.
Click on an empty box and type the missing number.
Use the Tab key to jump quickly between the two boxes.

  2. Submitting and Scoring
Check Answer: Click the purple button or simply press the Enter key on your keyboard to submit.
Correct: If your math is right, you’ll hear a “ding,” the boxes turn green, and your Streak goes up.
Wrong: If you make a mistake, you’ll hear a low thud, the boxes turn red, and your Streak resets to 0.
Skip: If a sequence is too difficult, you can click “Skip” to generate a brand new set of numbers.

  3. Tips
Check the middle: Sometimes the gap is in the middle of the sequence. To find it, look at the number after the gap and subtract the number before it.
    Example: 3, __, 7 → 7−3= 4.
Watch the first two: The game doesn’t always start with 0 and 1. It uses “random seeds,” so always look closely at the first two numbers provided to set your baseline.
