Welcome to FCP (with & without Repetition) Worksheet/Game. This game, the FCP (with & without Repetition), is designed to help you understand the Fundamental Counting Principle (FCP) through solving some word problems. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

Step 1: Choose Your Mission
When you open the game, you’ll be presented with three protocols:
With Repetition: Items can be used more than once (e.g., a passcode like 1-1-1).
Without Repetition: Each item can only be used once (e.g., a race where one person cannot take both 1st and 2nd place).
Mixed Mission: A random combination of both to test your adaptability.

Step 2: Solve the Problem
Once the mission starts, read the scenario in the slate-colored box. You need to calculate the total number of possible combinations.

The Logic
The game follows the formula:
Total = n₁ × n₂ × n₃ …
In “With Repetition”: The number of choices stays the same for every slot.
Example: A 3-digit lock (0-9) is 10 × 10 × 10 = 1,000.
In “Without Repetition”: The number of choices decreases by 1 for each subsequent slot.
Example: Choosing a President and VP from 10 people is 10 × 9 = 90.

Step 3: Input & Feedback
Select an Answer: Click one of the four buttons at the bottom.
Correct Answer: You’ll hear a high-pitched chime, see a “Mission Success” message, and earn 10 points.
Click Next Question to continue.
Incorrect Answer: You’ll hear a low-pitched buzz. A Formula Step will appear, showing you exactly what the multiplication should look like (e.g., 10 × 9 × 8) to help you correct your calculation.

Step 4: Navigation
Exit to Menu: If you want to switch modes or reset your progress, click the red-bordered button in the top right corner.
Score: Your running total is displayed in the header. Try to see how long a streak you can maintain.
