Welcome to Compare Word Problem Worksheet/Game. This is a word-problem game where you help different characters compare their items. Instead of just looking at numbers, you have to read a short story to find the answer. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.
How to Play
Start the Story
Click START STORY. You will see a short story appear in the orange box (for example: “Sam has 4 apples. Lily has 9 apples.”).
Listen or Read
Reading: Read the text in the italicized box.
Listening: Click the 🔊 Read Story button at the top right. The game will read the problem out loud to you.
Solve the Comparison
Look at the sentence below the story. It will ask you to compare the first person to the second person.
[Name 1] has [?] than [Name 2]
Click one of the three choice buttons:
more: If the first person has a bigger number.
fewer: If the first person has a smaller number.
the same as: If both people have the exact same number.
Check Your Result
Correct: The answer slot turns green, you get a star (⭐), and the game congratulates you.
Incorrect: The answer slot turns red, and the game will explain the correct answer to help you learn.
