Welcome to Compare using Words Worksheet/Game. This game teaches you how to build “number sentences.” Your goal is to figure out the relationship between two numbers using three specific phrases: is greater than, is equal to, is less than. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

 

 

How to Play

1. Start the Game
   Click the PLAY GAME button. You will see two numbers appear on the screen, one on the left and one on the right. The computer will also read these numbers out loud to you.
   

2. Build the Sentence
   Look at the Left Number first. You need to decide how it compares to the Right Number. You have three choices:
   is greater than: Pick this if the left number is bigger (e.g., 10 is greater than 2).
   is less than: Pick this if the left number is smaller (e.g., 3 is less than 7).
   is equal to: Pick this if both numbers are exactly the same (e.g., 5 is equal to 5).
   

3. Check Your Answer
   Click the button that you think is correct.
   Correct: The middle text turns green, you hear a cheer, and your score goes up.
   Try Again: If it’s incorrect, the text turns red, and the computer will tell you the correct answer so you can learn it for the next round.
   

4. Move to the Next Round
   Click the NEXT SENTENCE ➔ button to get a brand-new set of numbers and keep your winning streak going.
