Practice connecting causes and effects using key signal words like because, so, and as a result in this interactive 2nd-grade reading game featuring built-in audio!


 


 

How to play

  1. Read or Listen to the Signal Word: Look at the middle badge on the builder board (because, so, or as a result) to identify how the sentence needs to flow.

  2. Select an Event Card: Click or tap event cards from the option bank to fill the empty sentence slots.
    For “so” / “as a result” chains: Place the Cause in Slot 1 and the Effect in Slot 2.
    For “because” chains: Place the Effect in Slot 1 and the Cause in Slot 2.

  3. Use Text-to-Speech: Click the small speaker icon (🔊) on any card or slot to hear the sentence aloud.

  4. Modify Your Chain: If you want to change your answer, click any placed card in a slot to return it to the bank.

  5. Check Your Chain: Once both slots are filled, click Check Chain 🔗 to test your answer, earn points, and receive immediate feedback!
