Area of Triangle Game
Area is a measure of the space an object takes up. A triangle’s area can be obtained by using the equation \( A = \frac{1}{2} \times \text{base} \times \text{height} \). The key to finding the area of a triangle is to find the perpendicular height. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

In this game, you may select “Height Inside” or “Height Outside” or “Mixed Types”. After that you can select “Find Area”, or “Find Base/Height” or “Mixed Questions”. If you give a wrong answer, the game will provide the correct answer.

How to Find the Area of Triangle
The area of a triangle is the measure of the two-dimensional space it covers. It is measured in square units (e.g., m2, cm2).

Area Formula
The general area formula for any triangle is:
\( A = \frac{1}{2} \times \text{base} \times \text{height} \)
The height needs to be the perpendicular height from the base.

To Find the Area
\( A = \frac{1}{2} \times \text{base} \times \text{height} \)
is the standard formula to find the area of a general triangle, but it requires you to calculate or measure the perpendicular height (h).
How to Apply It
You must drop a line from one vertex (corner) straight down to the opposite base, creating a 90° angle. This perpendicular line is the height (h).

To find the Base
Change the subject of the formula to get
\(b = \frac{2A}{h}\)

To find the Height
Change the subject of the formula to get
\(h = \frac{2A}{b}\)

The video gives a clear, step-by-step approach to calculate the area of a triangle.
