Welcome to the Add 9 Challenge! Since 9 is close to 10, the user is encouraged to add 10 and then subtract 1. As you progress toward sums of 20, adding nine becomes a vital skill that tests your ability to visualize number relationships and speed up your mental processing. How to Play

1. The Core Equation
   Every round, a new problem will appear in the center of the screen. You’ll see equations like 6 + 9 or 9 + 6. Because of the Commutative Property, the answer is the same regardless of which number comes first.
   

2. Make Your Move
   Select one of the four buttons in the grid.
   Correct: The button glows emerald, a “Divine Nine” chime plays, and the full equation is confirmed.
   Incorrect: The button highlights in orange, a low tone plays, and the app reveals the correct sum so you can learn for next time.
   

3. Master Your Accuracy
   The Accuracy Tracker at the top right keeps a live count of your successes. Aim for a “Perfect Session” (10/10) to prove you’ve mastered the +9 pattern.
   

4. Audio Control
   Need to practice in a library or a loud room? Use the Speaker Icon in the top right to toggle the interactive sound effects on or off.
   

The Shortcut: Plus 10, Minus 1
The fastest way to add 9 is to realize that 9 is almost 10. You can solve these in your head instantly using this trick:
Add 10 to the number first.
Take away 1 from the result.
Example: 7 + 9
7 + 10 = 17
17 - 1 = 16
Result: 16
