Welcome to the Add 8 Challenge! Since 8 is close to 10, the user is encouraged to add 10 and then subtract 2. As you progress toward sums of 20, adding eight becomes a vital skill that tests your ability to visualize number relationships and speed up your mental processing. How to Play

1. Identify the Sum
   In the center dashboard, a new problem will appear for every round. The numbers will switch positions (e.g., 4 + 8 or 8 + 4) to help your brain recognize that the total stays the same regardless of the order—this is known as the Commutative Property.
   

2. Choose Your Answer
   You will be presented with four possible answers.
   Correct: The button glows indigo, a sparkling chime plays, and you’ll see the full equation confirmed.
   Incorrect: The button turns red and a lower tone plays. The game will immediately show you the correct answer so you can lock it into your memory.
   

3. Track Your Accuracy
   Look at the Accuracy bubble at the top right. It shows your current score (e.g., 8 / 10). Challenge yourself to maintain a perfect 100% score as the questions come faster.
   

4. Toggle Sound
   If you are practicing in a quiet place, use the Speaker Icon in the top right to mute or unmute the feedback tones.
   

5. Keep the Momentum
   Once you’ve answered, click NEXT CHALLENGE ➔ to jump straight into the next problem.
   

Strategy: The “Plus 10, Minus 2” Trick
Adding 8 is much easier if you use 10 as a “stepping stone.” Since 8 is just 2 away from 10:
Add 10 to the number first.
Subtract 2 from that total.
Example: For 7 + 8
7 + 10 = 17
17 - 2 = 15
Result: 15
