Welcome to the Add 4 Challenge! Ready to take your mental math to the next level? This game is designed to help you master adding four to any number with lightning speed. Mastering the “+4” jump is a major milestone in building number confidence and preparing for more complex arithmetic. You can also consider using the Addition using Make a Ten Strategy. How to Play

  1. Observe the Problem
    In the center of the purple dashboard, a new math problem will appear for every round.
    Variety: The game swaps between styles like 6 + 4 and 4 + 6.
    The Goal: Calculate the total as quickly as you can without using your fingers.

  2. Master the “Double-Double” Strategy
    A great way to learn to add four is to visualize two small jumps of two.Think: “If I have 8, jumping two gets me to 10, and jumping two more gets me to 12."

  3. Select Your Answer
    You will see four buttons. Only one is correct.
    Correct Choice: The button turns green, a success tone plays, and you’ll see the full equation confirmed in the feedback area.
    Incorrect Choice: The button turns red and a “thud” sound plays. Don’t worry—the game will show you the right answer so you can learn it for next time.

  4. Track Your Progress
    Keep an eye on the Accuracy bubble at the top right.
    Correct Count: How many you’ve gotten right.
    Total Count: How many problems you’ve attempted in this session.

  5. Keep the Momentum
    Once you finish a problem, the NEXT CHALLENGE ➔ button will appear. Click it to immediately load a new problem and keep your brain in the “math zone."
