3D Shapes Game
3D shapes, also known as solid shapes or geometric solids, are objects that occupy space and have three dimensions: length, width, and height. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

In this game, you are required to look at the given 3D shape and select the correct name for the shape. The possible shapes shown are: Cube, Rectangular Prism, Sphere, Cylinder, Cone, Square Pyramid, Triangular Prism. If you give a wrong answer, the game will provide the correct answer.

Score: 0 / 0

What 3D shape is this?

How to Play the 3D Shapes Game
In this game, you need to identify various 3D geometric shapes: cubes, prisms, pyramids, cylinders, cones, and spheres.
Here’s how to play:

  1. What 3D shape is this? Select the correct name for the shape shown.
  2. Check Your Work: Click the “Check” button (or press the Enter key). The game will tell you if you’re correct. If you are wrong, you will be shown the correct answer.
  3. Get a New Problem: Click the “Next” button for a new problem.
Your score is tracked at the top, showing how many you’ve gotten right out of the total you’ve tried.
  4. Back to Menu Click “Menu” to restart the game.

Categories of 3D Shapes
3D shapes are typically divided into two broad categories: Polyhedrons and Non-Polyhedrons.

  1. Polyhedrons (Flat Faces)
These shapes are made up entirely of flat faces, straight edges, and sharp vertices (corners).
A prism is a solid shape with two identical, parallel bases (e.g., a rectangular prism, triangular prism, pentagonal prism). The side faces are always rectangles.
A pyramid is a solid shape with a single base (which can be any polygon) and triangular faces that meet at a single point (the apex).
A cube is a special rectangular prism where all 6 faces are identical squares.

  2. Non-Polyhedrons (Curved Surfaces)
These shapes have at least one curved surface.
A sphere is a perfectly round 3D object where every point on the surface is equidistant from the center (like a ball).
A cylinder is a solid shape with two identical, parallel circular bases connected by a curved surface (like a can).
A cone is a solid shape with a single circular base and a curved surface that tapers to a single point (the apex).
