Objective: I know how to use the Pythagorean theorem to determine whether a given triangle is a right triangle.

We can use the Pythagorean theorem to check whether a given triangle is a right triangle.

For a triangle with sides a, b and c and c is the longest side, if c2 = a2 + b2 then it is a right triangle.

Read the lesson on the Converse of the Pythagorean theorem for more information and examples.
