Steps for Finding the Volume of Composite Solids Identify the Basic Solids: Break down the composite solid into recognizable shapes, such as cubes, prisms, cylinders, cones, spheres, or pyramids.
Calculate the Volume of Each Shape Separately:
- Use the appropriate formula for each basic solid. Here are some common volume formulas:
Cylinder: π = ππ2h
Cone: π = 1/3 ππ2β
Sphere: π = 4/3 ππ3
Rectangular prism: π = π Γ π€ Γ h
Pyramid: π = 1/3 Base Area Γ Height
