Types of Triangles Game
Triangles are three-sided polygons that can be classified using two independent criteria: the length of their sides and the measure of their internal angles. Length of sides: Equilateral, Isosceles, Scalene. Size of angles: Acute, Obtuse, Right. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

In this game, you first select the challenge “Classify by Sides”, “Classify by Angles”, or “Mixed Challenge”. Then select the type of triangle given its properties. If you give a wrong answer, the game will provide the correct answer.

Classification by Side Lengths

  1. Equilateral
All three sides are equal in length. All three angles are also always equal (60° each).
  2. Isosceles
At least two sides are equal in length. The angles opposite the equal sides (the base angles) are also equal.
  3. Scalene
No sides are equal in length. All three angles are different measures.

Classification by Internal Angles

  1. Acute
All three angles are less than 90° (acute angles).
  2. Right
Has exactly one angle that measures 90° (a right angle). The two non-right angles must be complementary (add up to 90°).
  3. Obtuse
Has exactly one angle that is greater than 90° but less than 180° (an obtuse angle). The other two angles must be acute.

The video gives a clear, step-by-step approach to learn the types of triangles.
