Power of a Product Game
Finding the power of a product is a rule that builds on the Power of a Power Rule. The main idea is that when you have a product (two or more terms being multiplied) inside parentheses, and that product is raised to an exponent, you apply the exponent to each factor within the parentheses. Scroll down the page for a more detailed explanation.

This game focuses on the rule for the power of a product. It will have a start screen where you can choose between problems with only positive exponents or a mix that includes negative exponents. If you make a mistake, the game will show you the correct answer.

How to find the Power of a Product
The power of a product rule states that when raising a product to a power, you can raise each factor to that power and then multiply the results. The key is to remember to apply the outer exponent to every single factor inside the parentheses.
Power of a Product Rule
The general formula is:
(xy)a = xaya
Example with Positive Exponents
Let’s simplify the expression:
(2x)4

  1. Identify the factors inside the parentheses: 2 and x.
  2. Apply the outer exponent, 4, to each factor.
    24x4
  3. Simplify the numerical part.
    24=2⋅2⋅2⋅2=16
  4. Combine the results to get the final answer.
    16x4
