Multiply 3-digit by 2-digit Worksheets

In these free math worksheets, you will practice multiplying a 3-digit number by a 2-digit number using the partial products method. You can either print the worksheets (pdf) or practice online.

How to multiply a 3-digit number by a 2-digit number?

  1. Place one number above the other. Make sure that the numbers are lined up according to their place values. Draw a horizontal line below the second number.
  2. Multiply the top number with the ones digit of the second number.
  3. Put the partial product below the line.
  4. Put a 0 in the ones place below the partial product.
  5. Multiply the top number with the tens digit of the second number. Put the second partial product below the first partial product.
  6. Add the two partial products. The sum would be the product of the two numbers.

  3. Zenin earns $142 per shift at his new job. During a pay period, he works 12 shifts. What would his pay be for that period?
