Grade 5 Math Worksheets

There are five sets of statistics worksheets:

Examples, solutions, videos, and worksheets to help Grade 5 students learn how to find the mean from a dataset.

There are two sets of mean worksheets.

- Mean Worksheet (Positive Numbers).
- Mean Worksheet (Include Negative Numbers).

To find the mean (average) of a dataset, follow these steps:

- Add Up the Values

Start by adding up all the values in the dataset. This sum will be the numerator of the mean formula. - Count the Number of Values

Count how many values there are in the dataset. This count will be the denominator of the mean formula. - Calculate the Mean

Use the formula for the mean (average):

Mean = Sum of Values/Number of Values

The result of this calculation is the mean (average) of the dataset.

For example, let’s find the mean of the following dataset: 10,15,20,25,30

- Add Up the Values

10+15+20+25+30=100 - Count the Number of Values

There are 5 values in the dataset. - Calculate the Mean

Mean = 100/5 = 20
