There are six sets of circle worksheets:

- Circumference Worksheets
- Area of Circle Worksheets
- Area & Circumference Worksheets
- Find Radius from Circumference
- Find Radius from Area
- Find Area from Circumference or vice versa

Examples, solutions, videos, and worksheets to help grade 7 and grade 8 students learn how to find the area of a circle given its radius or diameter.

There are two sets of area of circle worksheets

- Area of circles (inches, ft, yard)
- Area of circles (mm, cm)

**Given the radius**

If you are given the radius of a circle, you can use the following formula to find the area of a circle:

A = πr^{2}

Where:

- A is the area of the circle.
- π (pi) is a mathematical constant approximately equal to 3.14159…
- r is the radius of the circle.

Example:

Find the area of a circle with a radius of 6 units. Use 3.14 for π.

A = πr^{2} = (3.14)(6)^{2} = 113.04 units^{2}

**Given the diameter**

If you are given the diameter (which is twice the radius) then you would need to divide the diameter by 2 to get the radius and the use the formula A = πr^{2}

Example:

Find the area of a circle with a diameter of 8 units. Use 3.14 for π.

Divide the diameter by 2 to get the radius. Radius = 8 ÷ 2 = 4

A = πr^{2} = (3.14)(4)^{2} = 50.24 units^{2}
