When adding measurements make sure that the units are the same before you add.

1. Look carefully at the units used in each measurement you want to add (e.g., centimeters, meters, inches, feet, gallons, liters).
2. Make sure the units are the same. You cannot add measurements with different units directly. If the units are not the same, you’ll need to convert one or both measurements to have the same unit before adding.
3. Convert if necessary.
4. Add the measurements like any regular numbers.
