Square Root

A square root is a number that, when multiplied by itself, gives a specific product. In other words, it’s the inverse operation of squaring a number.

Example:
The square root of 9 is 3 because 3 × 3 = 9.
The square root of 16 is 4 because 4 × 4 = 16.

Notation:
The square root of a number x is denoted as √x.

Properties of square roots:
The square root of 0 is 0.
The square root of 1 is 1.
The square root of a negative number is undefined in the real number system (but it exists in the complex number system).

Calculating square roots:
For perfect squares (numbers that are the squares of integers), you can find the square root directly.
For non-perfect squares, you can use a calculator or estimation techniques.
