How to calculate percentage increase?

There are 3 sets of percentage increase worksheets:

  • Easy or Simple Percentages (50%, 25%, 20%, 10%, 5%, 1%)
  • Whole Number Percentages
  • Decimal Number Percentages

You can follow these steps to calculate the percentage increase between two numbers:

  1. Subtract the original number from the new number.
  2. Divide the result obtained in step 1 by the original number.
  3. Multiply the result from step 2 by 100 to get the percentage increase.

Example:
Given that the original number is 50 and the new number is 75, calculate the percentage increase.

  1. Subtract the original number from the new number: 75 - 50 = 25.
  2. Divide the result by the original number: 25 / 50 = 0.5.
  3. Multiply the result by 100 to get the percentage increase: 0.5 × 100 = 50%.
So, the percentage increase from 50 to 75 is 50%.
