Expanded Form (Millions) Worksheets

Writing numbers in expanded form involves breaking down a number into the sum of its individual place values.

To write a number in expanded form to the millions place, follow these steps:

  1. Break down the number into individual digits from left to right.
  2. Assign each digit to its corresponding place value: Millions, Hundred Thousands, Ten Thousands, Thousands, Hundreds, Tens, and Ones.
  3. Write the expanded form: Combine each digit with its place value, connected by plus signs.

Example:
Number: 3,620,759

Expanded Form:
3 Millions + 6 Hundred Thousands + 2 Ten Thousands + 0 Thousands + 7 Hundreds + 5 Tens + 9 Ones
Therefore, the expanded form of 3,620,759 to millions is:
3,000,000 + 600,000 + 20,000 + 700 + 50 + 9
