Example:
Evaluating the expression 3(x - 1) + 5 when x = -4.
Substitute x with -4: 3(-4 - 1) + 5
Evaluate expressions within parentheses: 3(-5) + 5
Perform multiplication and addition: -15 + 5 = -10
Remember to follow the order of operations and simplify each step along the way to evaluate the algebraic expressions accurately.
