### Round to the nearest 10, 100, 1000 Worksheets

In these free math worksheets, students practice how to round numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1000.

- When rounding a number to the nearest 10, look at the ones digit. If the ones digit is 5 or more, round up by increasing the tens digit by 1. If the ones digit is 4 or less, round down by not changing the tens digit. Then, change the ones digit to 0.
- When rounding a number to the nearest 100, look at the tens digit. If the tens digit is 5 or more, round up by increasing the hundreds digit by 1. If the tens digit is 4 or less, round down by not changing the hundreds digit. Then, change the tens and ones digits to 0.
- When rounding a to the nearest 1000, look at the hundreds digit. If the hundreds digit is 5 or more, round up by increasing the thousands digit by 1. If the hundreds digit is 4 or less, round down by not changing the thousands digit. Then, change the hundreds, tens, and ones digits to 0.
