In these Second Grade math worksheets, students practice how to round 3-digit numbers to the nearest 10 and nearest 100.

  • When rounding a 3-digit number to the nearest 10, look at the ones digit. If the ones digit is 5 or more, round up by increasing the tens digit by 1. If the ones digit is 4 or less, round down by not changing the tens digit. Then, change the ones digit to 0. Check that your rounded number is in tens.
  • When rounding a 3-digit number to the nearest 100, look at the tens digit. If the tens digit is 5 or more, round up by increasing the hundreds digit by 1. If the tens digit is 4 or less, round down by not changing the hundreds digit. Then, change the tens and ones digits to 0. Check that your rounded number is in hundreds.
